Wildfires & Revealing Old Stone Walls

This week marks a major milestone in our journey. For the first time, we begin restoring the farmhouse itself. Armed with a demolition hammer, we carefully remove decades of old plaster to uncover the original natural stone walls hidden beneath. It's hard, dusty work, but with every layer we remove, the character of this old Italian farmhouse slowly begins to return. While the restoration moves forward, an unexpected event unfolds across the valley. A wildfire breaks out on the hillside opposite our home, reminding us how quickly life in nature can change and leaving us hoping for the best after calling the emergency services.
