Kayak Adventure to Milton Pass: Hurricane Milton's Surprise Gift to Florida | Stump Pass State Park

Join us as we go kayaking to Stump Pass State Park and the new Milton Pass that cut through Manasota Key in Englewood, Florida. Crystal clear water, beaches and dolphin & manatee spotting! Stump Pass State Park is located on the southern tip of Manasota Key near the town of Englewood, Florida and the popular Englewood Beach. It's also home to the newly famous "Milton Pass" which is a pass that was cut right through the middle of Stump Pass State Park from the recent Hurricane Milton. There is a possibility that Milton Pass could close up in the future due to the shifting sand and waters. But when we visited, Milton Pass was just a narrow pass that you could swim in (with deep water) and it fed into a shallow bay area that made for a wonderful swimming hole with super clear water only about knee or waist deep. So you could technically get across Milton Pass to the southern part of Stump Pass by foot when we were there. It felt like we were in the Caribbean! This is one of our favorite State Parks in Florida nearby our home in Venice because of the crystal clear water, amazing wildlife and beautiful nature trails and beaches. Kayaking and boating around Stump Pass is one of the best ways to explore the coastal areas and to see it all. In this video we will go on a kayak adventure to Stump Pass State Park from Oyster Creek Environmental Preserve just south of Englewood Florida. We will paddle across Lemon Bay (crossing the busy boat channel) and arrive at Stump Pass. We will park near Milton Pass and explore the Stump Pass beach, swimming and enjoying ourselves. After our picnic lunch, we paddle south to the actual Stump Pass itself, watching all the weekend boaters have fun. Then eventually back across Lemon Bay to return.
