The sanatorium's head physician invites a vacationer, an intelligent woman of Balzac's age, to see him at 10 a.m., but she only shows up around lunchtime because she loves to sing and feed seagulls by the sea in the mornings. The intelligent doctor is stunned by the new vacationer and looks at her with irritation. But the flighty circus cashier turns out to be a charming and witty conversationalist.
