UNE ÉPILATION QUI TOURNE MAL !

"QUICK BEAUTY, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR" / More and more beauty centers are offering express beauty treatments. There are around 5,000 stores in France today. The range is wide: UV, manicures, slimming treatments, teeth whitening, etc. A business whose popularity is explained by its low prices. But are customers aware that risks exist? A team from Envoyé Spécial investigated two controversial practices: permanent hair removal using pulsed light lamps, and permanent makeup, a variation of tattooing. We met Sophie, whose permanent makeup applied to the contour of her lips degenerated into a thick black streak. She began laser treatment with a dermatologist to restore her normal face. We also met Bénédicte, who suffered second-degree burns on her forearm after a session of pulsed light lamp hair removal. She is trying to obtain compensation from insurance companies. Are beauticians trained? Are the machines used for hair removal reliable? Who controls them? Are scars reversible? An investigation by the Capa agency. #documentary #society #reportage A documentary by P.A.
