Kimberley Walk: Town Centre【4K】

Located in the county of Nottinghamshire, and around six miles northwest of central Nottingham, is the town of Kimberley. For most of its history, Kimberley was a small village, and only began to transform in size from the early 19th century. This growth was driven by industry, beginning with small-scale hosiery manufacturing before branching out into brewing and coal mining by the mid-19th century. These industries fell into decline during the 20th century, although it wasn't until 2006 that Kimberley's last brewery ceased production. In 1876 the first of two former railway stations opened in Kimberley, followed by a second in 1882. The latter was short-lived, and closed in 1917, while the original station served the town until 1964 before being closed as part of the Beeching cuts. Today, public transport consists of direct buses from Nottingham, Eastwood, Heanor, Ripley and various other nearby locations. 👇 SUBSCRIBE TO 4K EXPLORER FOR NEW VIDEOS EVERY WEEK 👇 https://www.youtube.com/4KExplorer?su...
