HOW TO CREATE SHADOW FOLDS ON FABRIC | Fabric Manipulation Textiles Technique | Didsbury Art Studio Using layers of fabric to create folds into patterns Shadow folds are such a therapeutic art form that I can't recommend enough! Depending on what fabric you decide to use will obviously give you different results. If you go with a thin fabric and hold it up against the light you can see the patterns/shadows created.
