URBAN TALKS 🟢 David Sim | Soft City
To be able to sleep with the windows open. To not be afraid to let your children run freely in the streets. This is what life in a metropolis can look like. According to Danish urbanist David Sim, a pleasant city requires, above all, the right density, a good mix of functions, and an emphasis on the human scale. David Sim is an award-winning professor, urbanist, and longtime close collaborator of architect Jan Gehl. In his book Soft City, he provides inspiration and a guide on how to design cities so that they are safe and pleasant to live in. The publication has been released in more than 20 languages and is now available in Czech. David also applies the principles described in this book at his agency, Softer. In the Czech Republic and abroad, he has long collaborated on projects with the development company Corwin.
