Enrique Esparza / Standing Their Ground: Tejanos at the Alamo
The son of Alamo Defender Gregorio Esparza, Enrique Esparza witnessed the brutal battle of the Alamo as an eight-year-old boy. Seven decades later, Adina De Zavala, a driving force behind preservation of the Alamo, found 80-year old Enrique in San Antonio during her research and helped him tell his story. These quotes are from a November 1902 San Antonio newspaper article and reflect painful memories of a fateful battle. Visit www.thealamo.org
