The Judah Complex

This video explores what has recently been coined “the condemnation narrative”. Namely, why did the 19th-century Restoration movement isolate itself in the Great Basin desert, and what has that exile done to its theology? By exploring what I call the "Judah Complex"—the dangerous habit of mistaking a single, localized branch for the entirety of God's global kingdom—this episode exposes how Utah repeats the biblical pattern of mistaking one’s isolated people for the whole cosmic plan of God. Exile tends to create doctrines out of thin air. This video explores a profound scriptural contradiction regarding the unpardonable sin. Christ's expansive message of grace in Matthew 12 has always been crystal clear, but was replaced by a fear-based interpretation of Alma 39.
