The long-awaited opening of the fall duck hunt! Everyone was saying there would be a huge number of ducks this year. The dry, warm summer and the absence of typhoons and floods allowed for several broods to be hatched and quickly fledged. Those who went scouting couldn't believe their eyes. Only their fathers and grandfathers had told them so many ducks in early spring! And so, on opening day, I went out for the morning hunt. I'd never experienced such a September hunt!
