It opens with Arjuna’s emotional breakdown on the battlefield when he sees many beloved relatives, friends, and teachers about to die in combat. The war between the forces of dharma and adharma assembled on the Kurukshetra battlefield symbolizes a person's mental conflict and struggle for inner peace. Arjuna seeks advice from Sri Krishna, whose profound spiritual guidance includes the non-dual wisdom of Advaita Vedanta, the practice of dhyana (meditation), bhakti (devotion), and karma yoga, integrating spiritual practice with day-to-day activities.
