The Walk - EP 107 - Crossing A Victorian Masterpiece - Chirk Aqueduct & Canal Tunnel - England/Wales

OK, so it's Georgian, not Victorian.... Phil and I are out for another historical stomp. We think we're in Wales. We think. We're walking across the incredible 73 feet high Chirk aqueduct that carries the Llangollen canal alongside the Great Western Railway, across the border between England and Wales. We then plunge into Chirk tunnel, known as the 'Darkie' when it was constructed, along with the aqueduct in 1801, by William Jessop and Thomas Telford. The 'Darkie' was the first tunnel built with a towpath, which is a relief because I didn't fancy swimming. At the other end we have a look at the Glyn Valley Tramway.
