In this video I go over how to set up a reverb on a send/return inside the Akai MPC LIVE and talk about some reasons and scenarios why you might want to use a send/return versus an insert. I also go over how to midi map your send so that it can be controlled by an external midi controller. Insert vs Send/Return FX Reasons or scenarios you might use a Send/Return rather than an insert. 1. A limited amount of inserts (4 per pad) I've been developing my mix process and will use inserts mostly for EQ and Dynamic plugins while reserving send/returns for fx such as reverb & delay. 2. You can use a single reverb on a return and apply it to as many pads as you need. For example on all of your drum samples. This can create a cohesive/glue effect (consider the sound of a room that a real live drum kit would be recorded in) this may also save your CPU processing power. 3.
