In this video, I'll show you the method used by Thomas Lie-Nielsen, the famous plane maker, to sharpen plane irons and chisels. The sharpening method for chisels requires one less step than the one for plane irons. It's a completely manual method that's very easy to use and relatively quick. To do this properly, you'll need: Two stones with different grit sizes, a 1000 and a 6000 grit for me. A sharpening jig, the Veritas MK2 for me. A ruler, an angle gauge, a permanent marker, and a water spray bottle to moisten your stones.
