This Old Guitar

I wrote this song about the Yamaha F-380TBS that I am playing in this video. It is the first guitar I ever purchased. I bought it from Steve's music store in downtown Toronto for about $250 and the guy took $50 off cause it already had small chip on the finish. I've had it for about 22 years now. The neck cracked at one point and I used some glue to keep it together. This guitar went with me to Halliburton Scout Reserve for a summer when I worked up north in the beautiful Canadian wilderness. Anyway, Steve's music store is no longer there and is closed up for business, just like Cosmo music after the effects of the pandemic and economic slowdown. I hope you enjoy it :) Let me know in the comments down below what you think! VERSE 1: (C) This old guitar (G/B) She smells of old wood (Am7) And campfire smoke runnin' (Fmaj7) Through it's veins I broke the neck Glued it back together Repaired the seams that Held my sweat CHORUS: (C) Can't let it (G) go (Am) the sounds (Fmaj7) and all the playin' (C) Too much history (G) in the grains (C) Blood, sweat, and tears Sun faded finish The echoes of history run through its veins (Instrumental break) This old guitar She played just like it should With love and hope goin' Through it's veins I held the neck Kept it together Sunbeams came down And hit my sweat CHORUS: BRIDGE: (F) This old guitar kept us sane (G) You played through life and all the pain (Am7) A big old man with all the games (Fmaj7) Lived a life despite the names Never forget it's in your blood This old guitar the same old wood Bought it next to China town Streetcar tracks on Spadina now
