Seven Dresses, One Wedding | Dress No.4: Alexander McQueen

This chapter revisits the Alexander McQueen couture dress I wore for our wedding ceremony in Capri, created by Sarah Burton during her time as Creative Director of Alexander McQueen. Because the ceremony took place outdoors, overlooking the sea, I wanted a dress that felt powerful enough to belong to that landscape. Not a princess dress, but something sculptural, architectural, and alive. Sarah understood that instinct immediately. Together we built a silhouette inspired by historical dress, with a corseted structure and hundreds of metres of organza moving like waves against the rocks of Capri. Looking back, what I remember most is the extraordinary creative dialogue, the fittings in London, and Sarah’s incredible commitment to getting every detail exactly right.
