They Met at Gettysburg
A rare archival gem from 1938, the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, when the Park Service invited all of the remaining veterans of the Civil War to the battlefield. This film was shot and edited by the National Archives and includes the Gettysburg downtown parades (featuring US armored columns of the 1930s), veterans in camp and revisiting the field, and President Roosevelt’s dedication of the Peace-Light memorial.
