IA Taonga Pūoro Demonstration (20 Jan 2022)

To celebrate the release of their brand new track and video Pūmau, Reti and Moetu from IA joined us in the studio to give us the low down and demonstrate the Taonga Pūoro that were used to inspire and create the waiata. Pūmau is a love song featuring the duet vocals of Pianika Duncan, and IA band member, Reti Hedley. The music resembles a modern soulful R&B track, yet it has been created entirely with ancient Māori instruments. Even the rhythm of the song was inspired by an ancient Māori pao from hundreds of years ago.
