SONIC EXPLORATIONS - Keith Richards' Micawber

CHAPTER TIMESTAMPS AND LINKS BELOW In our series, Sonic Explorations, we dive into iconic songs and quintessential artists to discuss the tools and techniques used to get their classic sounds. In this episode, we're looking at Rolling Stones' guitarist, Keith Richards' standby Tele: Micawber. Almost as ubiquitous as the cigarette hanging from his mouth, Micawber has been seen ever-slung on Richards while on stage and in studios as far back as the "Exile on Main Street" sessions. Having received it as a 27th birthday gift from another well-known strummer, Eric Clapton. Having been so heavily relied upon for such a broad swath of Keith's work, it's virtually inseparable from the man's fundamental tone (second only to his fingers). The guitar is speculated to be a 1953 model, although it's been heavily modified over the years and shares little with its original form, apart from its silhouette. Ride along as we dive into the mods, tuning, and more, and help you achieve that famous "Keef" sound. We hope this series provides entertainment, information, and a bit of fun for all our viewers.
