New Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid Review - It's not on sale yet, but is it the car South Africa needs?

Toyota South Africa has brought in a few units of their RAV4 PHEV, and we were grateful to be offered an opportunity to test drive it and bring you this video. Is a Plug-in Hybrid the perfect vehicle for South Africa? Let's find out. The key difference between a PHEV and a regular HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) is the size of the battery, and the power output of the electric motors. These components enable a PHEV with the ability to drive in full electric mode all the way up to highway speeds and beyond, whereas a closed loop HEV, such as the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid or Haval H6 Hybrid, will switch over to the ICE at about 40-60km/h. We really enjoyed our time in the RAV4 PHEV and we hope we have managed to convey to you the benefits of this drivetrain...and the downsides.
