Trout Fishing in the Drakensburg SOUTH AFRICA

Faf takes his dad up to the Drakensberg highlands to chase trophy rainbow trout on a still water neither of them has fished before. The reputation is big fish, and the cold dawn over glassy water sets the tone. The pair launch a small boat onto a mirror-flat dam ringed by winter grassland. Dad gets first blood early, bending a rod into a solid rainbow that boils and runs before sliding into the net. From there the action stays steady through the morning: drift after drift over the deeper water, takes on the strip, fish lost at the boat, fish landed and slipped back into the cold. As the light softens into the afternoon the bite holds. There's a battle that has the rod doubled over and the angler braced, a wipeout swirl right beside the hull, and an underwater clip of a chunky rainbow finning back into the green after release. The trip closes out at a different water, flatter and more open, where another angler in an Assassin shirt boats a clean rainbow of his own to round things off. 📍 Drakensberg highlands, South Africa Chapters: 0:00 Hook: fly reel and trophy flash 0:30 Heading up to the still water with Dad 1:30 Boat launch on the glass 2:30 Dad bends into the first rainbow 4:00 Trophy trout to the net 5:30 Drift fishing through the afternoon 7:30 Rod-doubled battle and boatside wipeout 9:00 Underwater release and second water finish Connect with us here: Website: https://www.saltrockers.co.za/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saltrockers...
