But apparently that's uncool now, because Amazon is currently being overrun by AI-generated children's books. So I took a look around: What's actually going on? Is there really that much rubbish with fake authors, strange cover designs, and suddenly vanished thumbs? Yes. Yes, there is. We scroll through the depths of AI-generated children's book hell and see just how absurd it can get. People are seriously turning Midjourney Art into children's books, calling themselves Lisa Hofer or Mickey Müller, but they probably don't even exist. I'm not saying it's illegal, but it's not exactly pretty. Sure, the target audience won't notice, but it's still kind of sad. It's also about appreciating art. Especially if you've put a lot of effort into illustrating something yourself, an AI-generated cover like that just feels like a slap in the face. And yes, I know, the problem isn't AI, it's people. Thanks for the info, Sherlock. Still: Maybe it's time to let real people work on real books again. Just a thought. Am I going to completely lose it? No. Am I being passive-aggressive? Maybe.
