The final large event of the Gion Matsuri is the Farewell Lantern procession and also the Mikoshi movable shrine washing event. On July 28, 2025, we filmed as the processions passed along Kyoto's famous Shijo Dori between the Yasaka Shrine and the Shijo Bridge on the Kamo River. We also watch the Maiko join the Lantern procession at the beautiful Shirakawa canal.
