MHA Team Surveys Flood-Affected Areas for Relief Assessment IPAK DIYUM Pasighat, July 9:- An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on today visited flood-affected areas in East Siang and Lower Siang districts to assess the damage caused by recent floods and evaluate the need for additional central assistance. The team, led by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nishtha Tiwari, included officials from various central ministries: S. Krishna from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Jintu Das, Director in the Department of Agriculture, N. Pratap Singh, Deputy Director in the Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance, W. Blah from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Rajkumar Gupta from the Ministry of Rural Development, and Secretary of the Department of Disaster Management, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Dani Salu. inspected the Integrated Farm of Smti. Olik Tapok Taloh at Ledum village, besides Rema Bridge, Tene Bridge, and Remi Bridge, where flood damage to agricultural land, public infrastructure, and connectivity was assessed. The team was briefed by the district administration on the extent of damage, relief and restoration measures, and rehabilitation requirements. It also interacted with affected residents, PRI members, and farmers to understand the challenges on the ground. The inspection was accompanied by Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, Nari-Koyu MLA Tojir Kadu, ZPC Ruth Tabing Boko, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani, IAS, and other officials. The IMCT appreciated the district administration's relief and restoration efforts and said its findings would be submitted to the Government of India for consideration of additional financial assistance.
