2026 BMW Boxer R model launch

Following on from the significant upgrades of the GS and GSA range in late 2024, BMW have launched their road focused 1300 boxer powered models on the roads of Victoria, where Australian media were assembled to put the entire range through their paces over two days of sensational ridding on some of the best roads the southern state had to offer. To put into context how important the GS and GSA models are too BMW locally, these models represent over 50 percent of total yearly sales for the brand. Listening to customer feedback, a lot of popularity stems from the performance characteristics of the 1300 boxer power plant and the revolution of the road focused models is designed to make that motor and technology available to more customers who do not necessarily want an adventure bike. Interestingly and admitted to by BMW officialdom during the official launch presentation, the new bikes biggest competitors are set to come from within, directly from members of the BMW family, with models from the S 1000 range set to compete directly with new models, however BMW believe that the variety and options across the entire range available to customers, will keep them brand loyal.
