He began his flower arrangement studies at the age of two under his grandmother, Riharu Hattori, founder of the Koryu Toyokai school, and his mother, Riho Miyamoto, the second-generation head of the school. He began participating in the Ikebana exhibitions during his university years. He has exhibited at the Ikebana International World Championship and the Japan Ikebana Art Exhibition. In 2009, he became the deputy head of the Koryu Toyokai Ink-Wash Flower Ceremony.
