For several months, Manu Bonmariage followed the preventative work of a few police officers in Charleroi. "Allo Police" (Hello Police) deals with complaints, noise disturbances, disputes between neighbors, reports of adultery, fights, thefts... The police officers practice prevention, trying to "sort things out" between people. Behind this "comedy of manners" loom violence, suffering, death, theft, rape, adultery, fear, and anguish in the face of these well-intentioned "cops" bewildered by not knowing what role to play: psychotherapist, social worker, justice of the peace... Barking dogs, a television flickering, plastic flowers. Omnipresent elements of a setting further saddened by large-patterned wallpaper, family photos hanging on the wall, and a sugar bowl on the table. In there, people stammer out "vague words," cry, shout, soliloquize, continue their monologues in pairs or trios. One thinks of Brel and "those people."
