Social Investment Transforming Community-led Housing In York

Resonance Community Developers (RCD) is a social investment fund that supports communities to create and own assets that meet local needs, strengthen resilience, and build community cohesion. The fund invests in community-led affordable homes and facilities that benefit the whole community, with a vision that all communities feel empowered to deliver local solutions, become asset owners, and contribute to place-making, economic resilience, and tackling inequalities. This film showcases one of RCD’s investments: YorSpace in York. YorSpace is a Community Benefit Society and Community Land Trust creating a neighbourhood of affordable, sustainable homes at Lowfield Green. With the support of RCD, City of York Council, and other social investors, YorSpace is delivering 14 community-led homes designed to One Planet Living principles - providing families with genuinely affordable, low-carbon housing for generations to come.
