'At First, It Was Just X': Ti West Reveals the Origins of Pearl and MaXXXine
Ti West concludes his acclaimed slasher movie trilogy with MaXXXine, the follow-up to X and Pearl. Ahead of the movie's theatrical release, CBR's Hannah Rose discussed the horror flick with director Ti West along with stars Giancarlo Esposito and Moses Sumney. In the interview, West reflected on how the trilogy came to be. He shared how X wasn't designed from the start to have any sequels, originally written as a standalone horror film. Things changed when the pandemic put a freeze on most movie productions, causing West to film X in New Zealand. Because it wasn't lost on the filmmaker how lucky he was to be able to film a movie at a time when most other directors could not, he wanted to make the most of the opportunity. That led to pushing for another movie to be made using the same set, and A24 fortunately granted West's request. #maxxxine #tiwest #a24 Visit us at: http://www.cbr.com Like us on Facebook: / cbrofficialpage Follow us on Twitter: / cbr Follow us on Instagram: / cbrofficialpage
