Burnout 3: Takedown was the moment everything clicked. Explosive crashes, unforgettable Road Rage events, and licensed punk and rock tracks blaring through your speakers....to me, this was peak 2000s arcade racing. In this retrospective, I revisit Burnout 3, which holds a special place in my heart after growing up playing it on the original Xbox. Now through PS2 emulation, I’ve rekindled that chaos and speed all over again. From the World Tour and Crash Mode to the birth of Takedowns and the first licenced soundtrack in the series, this is where Burnout truly found its identity.
