Continuing my visit to Montsalvat, the historic artists’ community in Eltham, Victoria. In Part 2 of this vlog, I explore more of the beautiful old stone buildings, charming courtyards, and the peaceful artistic atmosphere that makes Montsalvat so unique. Walking through the grounds feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by handcrafted architecture, galleries, and a creative spirit that has inspired artists for decades. After finishing the visit, I took a short walk in a nearby park where I had a delightful encounter with a beautiful and charming group of cockatoos. Watching these majestic birds flying, resting on tree branches, and interacting with each other in the peaceful park setting was a perfect way to end the day. Montsalvat, established in 1934, is one of Australia’s oldest continuously active artists’ communities. With its medieval-style buildings, art studios, galleries, and lush natural surroundings, it remains a special cultural landmark in Melbourne’s northeast.
