Prof Naidoo outlines the Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre and MedSIR partnership, and reflects on the clinical trials think tank held in May 2026. The session explores how investigator-led ideas can be developed, refined, prioritised and scaled, including through national collaboration and international partnerships. The presentation also highlights the strengths of Ireland’s cancer trials ecosystem, including the Cancer Trials Ireland network, DSSGs, POI2, clinical leadership and existing site infrastructure, while considering the challenges around funding, prioritisation, supportive care research, de-escalation trials and European funding opportunities.
