Best Boston accents: Boston.com readers share their wicked good accents
In 2020, Boston.com asked readers to submit video clips showing off their accents. We got submissions from Ashland and Braintree to Cambridge and Dorchester, and even a few from people who have left New England but never lost their roots. Despite frequent teasing reported by many readers, they all have great pride in their non-rhotic dialects. Several extolled the supremacy of iconic New England beverages (Friendly’s frappes, Dunkin’ coffee, Polar Seltzer, Sam Adams lager) while others shared anecdotes on Mark Wahlberg and never parking in Harvard Yard. Which reader do you think has the best Boston accent?
