KVW's Mail Call 279! Caseback tools, 6309 crowns, 5H26s, and more! July 10, 2026

@80sVHS Killer t-shirt (this question refers to a T-shirt I have with the cover art to the Talking Heads album 'Remain in Light') @saulbrook7740 It always amuses me when I search on a watch or audio related topic and stumble on a thread somewhere that I already expounded on the topic years and years ago. @cmb1972 Talking of Citizen, I visit a junk shop in Thailand that sell everything by weight and picked up a Citizen Chronometer from 1966 for less than the cost of a potato! HaHa @diorpalms Spencer! I'm sure this is probably a redundant question but what are we looking at as far as timeframe for accepting slots for serving? I have a 1980 (6309) that needs some love. SEIKO 6105-8110 1/77 WILLARD @joemoore4027 I bought mine onboard our ship while I was attached to the US Carrier Constellation in 1976. The watch was a whole $25.00 at the time and it has never been worn ! I just could not wear it fearing I might scratch it up. Beautiful watch. SEIKO 6117-6400 WORLD TIME @w33d5 Working on mine now. Waiting on a donor movement for a balance complete from the 61xx family (6119) SBDX017 MARINEMASTER HAWAIIAN BEACH FIND @1776-4life So 300m is a suggestion BONHAMS AUCTION RESULTS! GENE HACKMAN’S 5H26-7A10 @stephenboykin4958 Great video Spencer, I have acquired two of these recently. Are replacement movements hard to come by for these? For the quartz version. The Pepsi model. FOR RD: SEIKO 7548-700C SERVICING @AndyS.2026 Can you please give some advice on how to replace the crown gasket. I have spent at least an hour trying to insert the new gasket into the crown, both with the crown stem installed and removed, but just can't do it. Thank you. FOR MS: SEIKO 6217-8001 62MAS @xekret Hi Spencer. I have a 62MAS and when I put it on the timegrapher dial up, it shows about 3 ms of beat error. When I switch positions, it goes back to 0.0 or 0.1 dial down. Is it time for a service? It is keeping good time. Also, it has always had amplitude over 300 degrees which I thought was good, but found out the max range for the 6217 is around 270. Please let me know your thoughts in case I need to add my name to the waitlist. Thanks! SEIKO 7549-7010 JDM GOLDEN TUNA RESTORATION @WhoIsSerafin Wow! I didn’t expect the quartz movement to look like a mechanical movement. @TylerInman Have a Golden Tuna and I can't get the retaining ring off to change the battery, do you have any tips or tricks in getting it off...I took it to the local watch store and they couldn't get it off either. FOR ML SEIKO 7A28-7039 RESTORATION @Scott-di3fk Hi Spencer, as always, amazing job on a stunning watch. Have a question, for a watch like this when you clean, what is your regime for cleaning the coils and the circuit boards (or if you do at all)? Also, what is the caseback opener I see you using with the prongs and the brass ends on it? Thanks as always for great content and informative videos. Also how do you ensure your QT-99 is adjusted, is there somewhere you send it to get serviced/checked for accuracy? What an amazing piece of kit FOR RM: GRAND SEIKO 5722-9990 EVALUATION @BiffTannenBTTF Just looking at all those diafix settings makes me shudder lol. I hate them so so much. www.kleinvintagewatch.com   / kleinvintagewatch   https://www.instagram.com/ No ammonites were harmed during the making of this video
