16 Minutes of Rainy Day and Golden Hour Planesopotting during Charlotte's rush-hour air traffic, on a beautiful June afternoon/ evening! This day was one of my most favorite days out at CLT for it's amazing air traffic, weather, and events! June 6, 2024 was the sneak peek of the new Overlook for specially invited guests including employees and planespotters! We were invited to see the new overlook before it opened to the public the morning after and during this time, I got to meet many fellow aviation enthusiasts and planespotters! It was an amazing time down at CLT and I hope the airport can host more spotter meetups in the future!! This day was also an amazing day for weather because I was able to practice spotting with both golden hour lighting and rain when an afternoon storm came through! The rain stopped after about 20 minutes and I was able to get footage of the amazing aircraft action on the wet tarmac and eventually the beautiful golden hour lighting! A main point I would like to add in this video is the interesting takeoff done by the UPS A300 (N121UP) when it took-off from a taxiway point on the runway, leaving it much less room to stop if it had to abort takeoff! Something I have never seen done at CLT before!
