“They Look Useless… Until You Open Them”

In this video, I go through a pile of old fluorescent light ballasts with a total weight of 14.7 kg (32.4 lbs). At first glance, they look like completely useless scrap — but I decided to break them all down and see what’s actually inside. After opening and processing everything, I recovered 2.3 kg (5.07 lbs) of clean copper hidden inside these units. That means approximately 15.6% of the total weight turned out to be pure copper. It’s always surprising how much valuable material is hidden inside items most people would throw away. That’s exactly what makes scrap metal recovery so interesting — you never really know what you’ll find until you open it. ⚙️ Material Breakdown: Fluorescent light ballasts: 14.7 kg (32.4 lbs) Clean copper recovered: 2.3 kg (5.07 lbs) Copper yield: ~15.6% If you enjoy real scrap metal breakdowns, copper recovery, and hidden value finds, make sure to subscribe for more content like this.
