I had eagerly anticipated exploring the renowned Megerian Carpet Armenia, a treasure trove of intricate designs. However, fate had other plans. The doors to this world of color and craftsmanship remained closed, diverting my journey onto a different path. Undeterred, I redirected my steps towards a monument of a different kind. Yerevan's October Revolution Memorial & Victory Park emerged as an unexpected yet compelling destination. As I approached, the imposing architecture and solemn atmosphere commanded attention. The park, starkly contrasting to the colorful world of carpets, offered a poignant reflection of Armenia's history. The towering statue at the memorial's heart stood as a silent sentinel, its form etched against the sky. The surrounding grounds, meticulously maintained, bore witness to the nation's struggles and triumphs. A sense of reverence filled the air as I wandered through the park, contemplating the sacrifices made by countless Armenians. While the Megerian Carpet Armenia remained a tantalizing prospect for another visit, the detour to the October Revolution Memorial and Victory Park proved to be an enriching experience. It reminded me that even the most unexpected turns can lead to unexpected discoveries.
