Black Single Dad Told to Use the Back Entrance — He Designed the Building

A Black single dad walks through the front door of a high-rise building for a meeting on the 32nd floor. The security guard tells him to use the back entrance. What the guard didn't know — what no one in that lobby knew — was that the man standing at the desk had designed the building. The lobby he was being turned away from. The floating reception desk. The ceiling he was looking at. All of it. This is a story about what it looks like when a man doesn't need to announce what he's built — because eventually, the building announces it for him.
