This canyon country road, running from Leijiaba Village to Tuanlong Village, stretches 13 kilometers in full length. It lies within Fengshui Town, Tongzi County, Zunyi, Guizhou Province, tucked into the deep mountain canyons of the outer Dalou Mountains. As a representative rural road showcasing the mountainous character of northern Guizhou, it is part of Guizhou’s Village Group Access rural road network. Built winding along valley cliffs, the road connects the core residential area of Mu’ai Village, the kudzu root industrial base and the unspoiled hidden landscape of Chuanyan Canyon. Some cliffside sections have a vertical drop of over 10 meters. The entire route cuts through the typical karst canyon landform of northern Guizhou, with its most stunning scenery concentrated in the "Little Blade Mountain" area of Chuanyan Group, Mu’ai Village. Both sides of the canyon rise as hundred-meter vertical cliffs as sharp and thin as a blade. The giant natural Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Gate Cave), carved into the middle of the cliff face, is the iconic landmark of the whole route. A local myth has been passed down for generations about the God Erlang Shen carrying two mountains on his shoulder pole until the pole snapped right here. The canyon has extremely high vegetation coverage, with shrubs, bamboo groves and mixed woodlands staying evergreen year-round. A stream meanders along the valley floor, forming small cascades and pools in the rainy season. Layered terraced fields line the road, planted with kudzu root, corn, rapeseed and other crops. Man-made irrigation canals and footpaths chiseled into the cliff in earlier times still remain, making this a lesser-known light hiking spot for local outdoor enthusiasts. The road links a string of traditional northern Guizhou villages including Leijiaba, Mu’ai and Tuanlong. Dwellings with white walls and grey tiles scatter across the canyon slopes, untouched by commercial development and retaining a simple, authentic rural atmosphere. Kudzu root cultivation is the core local specialty industry, supplemented by red sorghum, Sichuan pepper planting and beef cattle breeding. As a rural revitalization industry demonstration zone of Tongzi County, the area also preserves traditional farming customs and local folk culture. With sparse traffic and a strong pristine vibe along the entire route, the driving experience has distinct layers, shifting from flat, gentle country lanes to dramatic, steep canyon sections.
