🇫🇷 How many ways are there to cross the English Channel? Two: legally and illegally! Seriously: I mean how many methods of transport? In the process we hunt for the remains of two almost-forgotten attempts to dig a tunnel from France to England, one from the 1870s, one from the 1970s. We also see some people who are trying to make the journey by unofficial means. In my twenties I travelled a great deal, clocking up over 50 countries in Western and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. My favourites so far have been the Philippines, Moldova, Pakistan and Lithuania, but I can enjoy myself practically anywhere. If I’m interested in something or somewhere, it takes a lot to stop me from going there. Now that I’m in my 50s and the children are just about grown up, my opportunity to travel has returned with a vengeance! Hopefully I’ll be accompanied by my wife for some trips. In making videos for this channel I hope to share my excitement about this wonderful world - cultures, people, landscapes, food, museums, history, architecture, different ways of life. There’s so much that nobody can do all of it.
