Afro-Pfingsten & Beda's Associaton present: Avenor Gbadza Haborbor Group Ep 10

Explore the rich musical tradition of the Ewe tribe, recording Agbadza music in Akatsi, Volta Region. Beda’s Association X Afro-Pfingsten Beda’s Association serves as an alternative musical space for socially disadvantaged children in Accra, Ghana. It provides students with the opportunity to learn music and play instruments, a significant part of Ghanaian culture. Through these programs, children can potentially build a livelihood with the music skills they acquire during their time at Beda’s. The association leverages music and art as tools for improving lives by addressing social issues and assisting those facing social disadvantages. Beda’s vision aligns with the mission and vision of the Afro-Pfingsten Festival. Held in Winterthur, Switzerland, this festival addresses social issues such as systemic oppression, racism, and social inequalities. The Afro-Pfingsten team met Beda’s in Ghana during a field research trip to explore the roots of Ghanaian music. This encounter was incredibly fruitful for both parties, allowing for the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and values. Inspired by this meeting, the idea for a documentary series showcasing Ghana’s rich musical repertoire was born. This series aims to promote the Ghanaian music and art scene, while also fostering collaborations with artists for potential performances at the Afro-Pfingsten Festival in Winterthur, Switzerland.
