You landed your dream job, but the hard work never ends. Especially as a New Grad, your first nursing orientation can be tough, but not impossible! The first thing is to be mentally prepared and have an idea of what to expect. Nursing is hard, mentally and physically. Mentally it will be a lot tougher in the beginning because on top of the nerves, you are also learning so many new things every second you are at work. It may be fast paced and overwhelming, but never forever to give yourself some credit for getting to where you are and be ready to learn! Be humble, ask questions and absorb as much as you can from all the wonderful nurses/staff around you. Learning knew things in the nursing profession is never ending. You will never know everything, but you will definitely become more and more confident in your knowledge and skills as time goes by. Be confident and most importantly give your patients the best care you can offer. Be patient with yourself, we all were new at some point. As we said in the video, you are not born just KNOWING.
