Hold the Line was a very difficult song for us to perform! Toto is known the world over as one of the most precise, tight and amazing group of musicians to have ever assembled. So taking on any of their songs is quite a challenge for us. We learned this song and the Breakfast in America song in the same 1 week period (and recorded them both the same day)... it was a really busy week :) And Harin's arms were killing him each pass (there's a lot of piano banging). We laughed a lot during rehearsals that week because after each pass, Harin would be shaking out his hands and arms trying to get blood back into them. He put on a lot of muscle learning this song! And we became tighter as a band with this song. Grayson - drums - 12 years old Max - bass - 12 years old Izzy - vocals - 12 years old Harin - keys - 12 years old Ishaan - guitar - 11 years old Jake - guitar solos - 11 years old Behind the music: The band all came over early Saturday morning and we put the cameras into record around 8:00am (yes, it was pretty early to do such an upbeat and rocking song). We did several passes performing the song one after the other and then voted on the pass we wanted to use. You're hearing the 2nd pass here. And we wanted to give a MASSIVE THANK YOU to our good friend Jake from the UK who guested on this song and performed an AMAZING solo and ad libs!! We learned about "The Incredible Jake" (that's our name for him) several months ago and are at a loss for words over how amazing he is! We feel he deserves tons of praise and support! He's truly in an elite class as a musician and we would urge anyone who likes his performance, to subscribe to his channels listed below. He's also just a really sweet and humble kid and we're so blessed to have him in the Graystones family!! (The audio in our live performances is overwhelmingly live and, on many videos, is 100% live. To some select songs, we may add layers of sound to enhance the overall song and sound experience.
