Rob and his family are living off the grid in New Zealand near Ruapehu, and up til now, have had only a generator and unreliable solar system to provide power to their off grid cabin. Off grid living can be tough without power, and often means losing simple conveniences like charging your phone. After last year's incredible entries for our GridFree off grid solar power system giveaway, we wanted to do it again—it's great to give back and we are so thrilled for this year's winner, Rob Moke. "Winning this solar kit, it's changed my life already," says Rob. "It's brought a smile to my face, to my wife's face. We get that simple thing back." Rob's story is one of our favourites so far. We were inspired by their mission to breathe life back into the neglected whenua, walk in the footsteps of their grandparents, and restore the whānau's forever home.
