After a crushing defeat, the injured knight Nicholas encounters Ilo, a water nymph whose magic can heal, but at the cost of the surrounding nature dying. The two become friends, and finally lovers. However, their romance turns toxic when Nicholas returns from war and begins exploiting Ilo's magical powers to create gold and riches. Consumed by his greed, the knight forgets what was once most important in his life. Will their love prevail?
