VAXEE ZYGEN NP-01 4K | The mel0n Review

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of The mel0n Review! Today, I'm very excited to be finally covering another VAXEE mouse: the ZYGEN NP-01 4K. Now, the NP-01, at least on paper, is very similar to the VAXEE NP-01s, which I reviewed a while back. This initially was a concern for me, as I found the NP-01s' slimmer take on an ergo/symmetrical hybrid shape to be quite awkward to grip. Given their similarities, I was worried I'd have the same experience with the NP-01. But to my surprise, despite the shells sharing the same hybrid shape, the NP-01 is a much bulkier mouse, being wider and taller than its slimmer counterpart, which makes the NP-01 a much more comfortable mouse to use. In addition to the more comfortable shell, the NP-01 maintains the same superb build quality, click feel, coating, and performance as the NP-01s, but with some additional improvements, as the NP-01 supports 4K polling! And in combination with VAXEE's special competitive mode performance, the NP-01 performs exceptionally well. But with the most recent firmware update, VAXEE has made some further improvements to the mouse's performance and sensor, as well as officially launching their web-based driver, which is one of the best web-driver implementations on the market. And VAXEE confirmed that all 4K versions of their wireless mice will also be receiving support for 8K Hz in the future, so even though the NP-01 already performs amazingly well, it'll get even better in a few months.
