Diamondbacks @ Cardinals 4/14/98 (McGwire 3 HR Game)

In the first-ever meeting between the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals, there were a lot of offensive fireworks. Mark McGwire, who had not homered since the fourth game of the season, went on a tear, sinking the Arizona pitching with three home runs. Matt Williams hit a Grand Slam in support of future Cardinals postseason hero Jeff Suppan (whose last name is mispronounced throughout the game by Joe Buck and Al Hrabosky as 'Sue-pan') for Arizona, but St. Louis came away with a 15-5 victory.
