Eine E-Biketour durch dieTeverener Heide

On this hot and sunny day, we cycled from Herzogenrath to the Teveren Heath, then rode a short distance through the beautiful heathland, and of course, back to our starting point. Teveren Heath Location: The area covers approximately 4.5 km² and is located in the southern part of the Heinsberg district (North Rhine-Westphalia) on the border with the Netherlands. Together with the Brunssummer Heath (Netherlands) and the Rodebach stream, it forms a cross-border nature park, the Heath Nature Park. The area borders Geilenkirchen, Übach-Palenberg, Gangelt, and Brunssum. The NATO airbase in Geilenkirchen is located immediately to the north. The Landscape: This is characterized by a diverse mix: Vegetation: Heathland, moors, and forests (especially birch stands). Bodies of Water: Numerous lakes (e.g., Christopherussee, Kiefernsee), which originated as remnants of former sand and clay mining. The heath provides a good habitat for many, sometimes rare, plant and animal species, including: Smooth Snake Woodlark approx. 40 dragonfly species Blue-winged Grasshopper Sundew If you'd like, join us on one of the most beautiful tours we did in 2025.
