You Can’t Bend Regular LED Strips. Here’s What to Use Instead.
Good Saturday morning! In today’s episode, Jeff follows up on the custom built-in white oak unit and takes a closer look at the innovative COB LED lighting from Häfele. What makes this lighting unique is that the COB (Chip-on-Board) LED strip is completely encapsulated in silicone. This allows it to be installed without the need for a traditional aluminum extrusion, opening up new design possibilities. Because the lighting is so flexible, Jeff is able to follow the curve of this custom-built unit seamlessly—something that would be nearly impossible with conventional extruded aluminum channels. This project is really coming together, and it’s exciting to see the details that make a custom piece stand out. We can’t wait to show you the finished installation in the client’s home.
