Amidst economic and food pressures, Cuba is writing a new chapter for its agriculture with the support of Vietnam. The impressive productivity figures in the Caribbean fields don't come from massive investments, but from the invaluable farming experience of farmers in the Mekong Delta. From this urgent need, the cooperation model with Agri VMA (Vietnam) has opened a new direction: Focusing on transferring "how to do it" instead of just providing short-term support. 📍 A leap forward in technology: Fundamental changes from dry sowing to wet tillage, pre-germination treatment of seeds before sowing. Flexible adjustment of water regimes and sowing density according to local conditions. Amazing figures: The amount of seeds used decreased dramatically from 200-300kg to just 30-40kg/ha, yet the rice plants still grew exceptionally well. 📍 Record yields: Average yields reached 9 tons/ha, with a record high of over 11 tons/ha recorded in Matanzas province. These results attracted special attention from the highest leadership: Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel personally surveyed the rice fields in Pinar del Río province. 📍 International media admiration: The online community and international forums highly appreciated Vietnam's approach of sharing "fishing rods" instead of "fish." From a country that once suffered from food shortages, Vietnam has now become a reliable partner, helping international friends enhance their sustainable self-reliance.
